PROOF IT WORKS
THE STUDENT WHO GOT REJECTED EVERYWHERE, THEN GOT INTO STANFORD
I want to tell you about one of my clients, Iris.
In her first applications, she was
←
The result: Rejected by Stanford and every Ivy League school she applied to.
The next year, she abandoned the Impressiveness Trap
and applied using my strategy. She had originally planned to graduate from high school early, but changed her mind after not getting into her dream schools, allowing her a second opportunity with admissions officers. Her second application included her core values:
- Focused on her core beliefs of gender equity and economics
- Created one impact project: Wrote and published a gender-neutral economics textbook for middle school students
- Dropped sports, music, and most clubs
- Lighter course load
The result: She was admitted to Stanford and multiple Ivy League schools.
Same student. Less “impressive” activities. Better results.
Why? Because the second time, she could clearly answer the two questions admissions officers actually ask:
- Who are you?
2. Why does it matter?
The first application showed she worked hard. The second application showed who she was and how she'd make the world better.
Listen to Iris tell her story in her own words.
